A Fire Ban has been issued for the Municipal District of Pincher Creek
We are eperiencing a warm, windy, and dry fall. These conditions are predicted to continue. The fuel continues to cure making it more available to burn. No new permits will be issued until conditions improve. Any fire permits for projects (debris piles, etc.) are cancelled. Use of permitted fire pits are still allowed. We use extreme caution and call 911 immediately if a fire starts.
Remember permits are required 12 months/ year for all types of burning.
The Pincher Creek Emergency Services is an organization consisting of approximately 50 of full time and volunteer members. PCES operates out of 3 stations (Lundbreck, Beaver Mines, and the Town of Pincher Creek) The Department has a Fire Chief (Dave Cox), a Deputy Fire Chief (Pat Neumann), four captains, six Lieutenants, and one training officer. The Department is dispatched via enhanced 911 out of the City of Lethbridge.
Our primary goal for the Fire Department is fire prevention and education. Our main role in the community is fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services. We actively participate and organize community functions such as fire prevention week, EMS awareness week, and in-school programs. Our Ambulance was recently upgraded and is now able to provide advanced life support. We are in the works of trying to organize and implement a more accessible water and high angle rescue system.

“It is my pleasure and honor to thank our great communities of Pincher Creek, Lunbreck, Beaver Mines and everyone who lives in the MD of Pincher Creek for their great initiative to implement the latest technology or techniques in the fire and emergency medical fields. It is our sense of duty and commitment to the community that has been at the heart of this initiative. This commitment began over a hundred years and continues with every new member than joins our ranks. It is our oath to care and protect everyone that calls us for help. I am proud to be a member of the Pincher Creek Emergency Services. I know of no other job that I would want to do… Thank you for your support “.
